Prayer Life

Christ is Risen!
There’s all sorts of things that we can do and say in order to convince ourselves that we are getting closer to God. None of them really mean anything, though, if we can’t say that we’re praying.
Jesus tells us that infinitesimal faith can move mountains. To have faith, to believe, is to live as if something were real. If we really believed that the Resurrection was real, for example…well, how would our lives change? Perhaps we would start making prayer, not just something that we did at the end of the day as one of the things we did before bed, but the main occupation of our lives. Perhaps we would tell people about the Resurrection so that they could share our joy…or, we wouldn’t have to tell people, because they could see Christ living in us and remember their own yearning for that themselves. We’d commune daily, confess as often as we could, keep whatever material goods we needed and gave the rest to the poor and needy, asking them to pray for us.
Our lives would be radiant.
And it all starts with prayer. Sometimes it’s brief, sometimes it’s short, sometimes it’s rushed…but start. Then, make it grow.
